About Thom Taft

Thom Taft

As a young Boy Scout, Thom Taft started researching his California pioneer family history. The skills he learned in doing so taught him critical-thinking approaches to prove or disprove theories, which aligned well with accounting practices.

His career spans three decades of full charge bookkeeping and accounting management, starting as a bank bookkeeper to controller of multi-million-dollar enterprises.

Thom has also created simplified software training that can be individualized or taught to a group. His training is focused on the needs of the business in areas which can significantly benefit daily workflow, productivity, and efficiency.

He currently serves on the Executive Board as Treasurer for the Salinas Police Activities League Youth Center. And previously served on the City of Salinas Historic Resources Board; was a volunteer researcher for Dr. Carol McKibben’s latest book, Salinas: A History of Race and Resilience in an Agricultural City; had the pleasure to serve on a Civil Grand Jury; and on dozens of nonprofit boards.
